Going to be doing the Out of the Darkness walk on September 14th. The cause is pretty important to me and would greatly appreciate a couple people checking it out.

Sometimes, you forget about something great.  Here is a reminder for one.  One of the greatest soundtracks to an anime or TV show I have ever heard.  If only other show creators worked this hard to create atmosphere.

I haven’t written anything here in awhile.  Possibly because nothing has really inspired me to, and I’ve been using up my recreational writing urges in other places.  However, over past last week or so, I’ve enjoyed one hell of a thing.  As one can obviously tell from the picture, I’m taking about the most recently released PS3 exclusive, The Last of Us.  It’s a realistic, organic, highly emotional story that started with the simple narrative  of two characters gaining an unbreakable bong throughout a long journey, and the game accomplishes this with flying colors, if not going above and beyond it.
I chose this picture very specifically.  When drudging up a picture to accompany what I write about, I try to avoid something people have already seen dozens of times, but this piece of key art represents so much about the game, the story, the characters, and the world within the game.  To start with the characters, you have a gritty man with a heavy looking revolver, looking back at a tough yet conflicted girl.  Both are heading forward, the girl more so than the man, but both are looking back, the man looking back with the girl in his sights.  The environment and their gear gives you a sense of the gameplay; wandering around cities getting retaken by nature, survival gear at their sides, weapons front and center, the contrast of the sun and shadows giving a fair representation of the choice of stealth or combat, as well as representing the journey itself.
I don’t believe I have more to say about this game for the time being.  All of what I have said so far is all you truly need to know about what this game is about, and what makes it great.  If anything, going more in depth would just be over-explaining  everything, though I could easily imagine that people who don’t have access to it due to it’s exclusivity would want a better idea of things, but there are possibly better places than my blog for that.
To those that are still on the fence for some reason, this game is a must-play.  It may easily be the biggest game of the year, from a critic and gamer acclimation standpoint.  It’s emotional, fun, compelling, well designed, gorgeous, challenging, and just damn good.

Some Chaotic Writing About My Suicidal Depression and The Autism I suspect I have.

I wrote this on a forum I mod and frequent.  I noticed a number of users suffering from depression, and was always stuck in silence when I tried to think of something to tell them.  This is me breaking that silence.  Hard.

Coffee stain portrait by Hong Yi

Amazing!

To hell with putting something like this on the designated reblogging… blog.  Hong Yi has to have a bit of madness in her to both think this up and execute it in such a fantastic way.

Tremendous news for me!

After roughly 1 and a half years, my best friend has made contact with me again.  Happy, happy day.

The Truth and the Shape-Shifter: The Odd Dream

Okay… going to share the dream I had yesterday when I slept for 14 hours because it is too weird to me not to share.

tldr: I don’t always dream, but when I do, I fall in love with a shape-shifter and see some shit.
